Timothy R. Hoover is a freelance writer for Hittin' The Note magazine.  After seeing David Sanborn perform King Curtis's "Soul Serenade" in 1994, he was consumed by learning everything he could about King Curtis.  With more than 20+ years of researching, interviewing and writing, Soul Serenade: King Curtis and His Immortal Saxophone was published on November 2, 2022 by the University of North Texas Press.
